Dave Porter:
Fishing is a way of life for the enthusiastic guide. Having grown up in Port Alberni, the local water of the Alberni Canal & Barkley Sound have been his backyard. In 1990 Dave began commercial fishing the Northern Waters of British Colombia, from Hakai Pass to Rivers Inlets, the Queen Charlotte Islands and beyond.
The year 2000 brought a change and Dave made the move to Ucluelet where his career in the sport fishing industry began to take form. Between chartered sport fishing expeditions and commercial fishing trips Dave has covered most of BC's coastal waters and garnished invaluable knowledge of this environment.
Even on his days off Dave is still fishing, likely to be found on one of his favourite rivers trying to entice steelhead on the fly, or anchored up looking for a monster halibut. Dave's passion for fishing and love for the water are both obvious and a reflection of the way he leads his life. A day on the water with this upbeat guide will leave you with a smile on your face and most importantly bragging rights on the dock.
Hank Griffin:
Hank has been passionate about fishing since he was 8 years old! He has been sportsfishing throughout British Columbia whether it be river, lake or ocean and has gained alot of knowledge and experience. He also fished commercially for several years along the coastline of BC. Hank is now living his dream of sharing his passion, knowledge and experience chartering off the West Coast of Vancouver Island for world famous Salmon and Halibut!

The right equipment!
The Blue Pacific is equipped with twin 150 Suzuki motors giving her lots of power to get us out on the "Big Bank" in no time at all. She is also sporting a 9.9 Yamaha kicker to keep us at speed while we are wetting our lines. She has all Raymarine electronics, GPS, and 2 VHF radios. All equipment and gear is provided and is top of the line: Scotty downriggers, Shimano rods and reels
Rates
4-hour afternoon Salmon Fishing trips :
In Ucluelet you can catch fish all day. 4-hour rates are:
$500 for 2 people and $20 extra per person
6 hour morning or afternoon Salmon Fishing trips :
We mostly do 6-hour trip during the afternoons, but if availble will do them in during the morning hours. 6-hour rates are:
$650 for 2 people and $35 for each extra person
8-hour Salmon and Halibut trips :
In Ucluelet you can catch fish all day but we usually go furthest offshore during the morning. 8-hour rates are:
$950 for 2 people and $90 extra per person
